Home Living Is Best Enjoyed In A Conservatory

Sunday, December 4th, 2011

Cutting the front and back lawns of your home are something you will not have to think about doing for the next few months. Nor will you be able to get out and enjoy the garden as much as you should have done this summer. But that does not mean that you cannot enjoy your garden in other ways! A conservatory is the perfect vantage point from which to enjoy the garden in all weathers.

Anyone who buys conservatories should expect their chosen installer to position it in a place where it will benefit from the most amount of natural sunlight. Not only that, but it should also be put in close proximity to the back garden, so that you feel as if you could almost reach out and touch it.

You should get a full view of your back garden so that you can sit and admire it rain, wind or shine. A conservatory will also come with double glazing ready-installed so that you don’t need to panic about it becoming too cold during the winter months. Even in the summer your windows will do their best to make sure that it doesn’t feel overly hot, reflecting away any excess heat.

It is entirely up to you how you utilise a conservatory as there are many different possibilities. Some will look to transform it into a separate dining room, while others may prefer to use it as a base from which they can work away from the office. Whatever you decide to do, make sure that it is entirely beneficial to the whole of the family so that everyone can enjoy it together as it really is a location for all the family.

Want to bring further warmth into the confines of your home? How about buying some replacement windows!

UPVC Windows Provide UK Families With Guaranteed Warmth

Thursday, December 1st, 2011

A uSwitch survey has shown that as many as 23 million households in the UK will go without heating at some point this winter. That works out at around 9 out of 10 households! The main reason for this drastic course of action is because of the ever increasing costs of energy bills.

Many of those hardest hit by pricey heating bills are those who have yet to replace their traditional windows, a chief cause of such financial strife. Therefore it makes sense for anyone forced to pay a high price for energy to invest in some UPVC windows with double glazing included.

This is because any heat generated in the home will be trapped by the glass contained within a UPVC window so that you can use your boiler far less frequently. All the draughts that you would notice in the past because of your old windows will disappear in an instant when you appoint an installer to fix the problem with modern-day replacements.

The overall cost of living has gone up in recent times which is another reason why people are being forced to rely on their heating system less. A new set of windows will solve that problem and allow you to spend your disposable income elsewhere.

Although the windows are the main cause of heat loss in the home, another source of the problem can be the front and back doors of the home. If you suspect that cold air is passing through either of your doors you should exchange them for UPVC doors. As with a UPVC window they will store heat and warm up your home at any time of the year.

The money you save on energy due to the successful performance of new windows and doors will more than justify the initial cost of paying for them.

G11 Awards Nominations For Clearview And West Yorkshire Windows

Saturday, November 19th, 2011

West Yorkshire Windows and Clearview Home Improvements – both part of Conservatory Outlet’s network of dealers – have been shortlisted in separate categories at this year’s annual G11 awards.

The G Awards are the most prestigious double glazing and conservatories industry awards and to be shortlisted companies must demonstrate total pride and professionalism in every aspect of their business from sales and marketing to design and installation, right through to after-sales service.

West Yorkshire Windows are one of four shortlisted companies in the Installer of the Year category, and Clearview Home Improvements have been named as a finalist in the Conservatory Installer of the Year category.

The former was a founder member of the Conservatory Outlet network of dealers and the latter has been a Conservatory Outlet dealer ever since its establishment in 2008.

Wakefield-based West Yorkshire Windows also has luxury indoor showrooms in Leeds and Doncaster and has been trading continuously for over 18 years. The company will face stiff competition from three other very successful installers; Sherborne, KJM Windows and Alumet Systems.

Clearview Home Improvements now has four showrooms following the recent opening of a Nantwich branch and was also shortlisted in the G10 awards last year. To be victorious this year the North-West dealer company will have to outshine Charles Christianson, P&P Glass and Sherborne.

The winners will be announced live at the prestigious G11 Awards & Gala Dinner which will be hosted by comedian Sean Lock at the Hilton Park Lane Hotel in London, on 25 November.

Conservatory Outlet Boss Makes The Cut

Sunday, November 13th, 2011

Matthew Glover, Managing Director of Conservatory Outlet, one of the country’s leading home improvement companies, has ranked highly in Window Industries annual top 30 influential list.

Window Industries is a monthly magazine for double glazing, door and conservatory fabricators and installers and is the longest established magazine for the UK’s fenestration industry.

Each year the publication lists who it feels are the top 30 most influential people in the window, conservatories and door industry and Matthew finished a very respectable 6th in the list.

The editor of Window Industries had this to say about Matthew and his company:

“Conservatory Outlet is perhaps the most influential fabricator in the UK currently, having set the standard for marketing that many others are now trying to emulate, but so far few if any are showing signs of the success enjoyed by Conservatory Outlet and its customers.

Still everywhere in the market, despite dropping out of GlassTalk, Matthew seems to have a finger in every blog, pie, cause and charity.

With Conservatory Outlet, Matthew Glover has created a hugely successful and unique fabricator business model. The Conservatory Outlet network comprises of a relatively small number of installation companies – 17 at present – but serves approximately 50% of the UK per capita.

The network continues to grow both organically and with the addition of other successful regional installers, attracted by the fabricator’s lead generation and marketing support.

A renowned blogger and one of the founders of GlassTalk Live, Matthew has recently become the vice chairman of the GGF Marketing & Communication Committee, being influential in the decision to redevelop the GGF website.”

Double Glazing Is The Key To Cheaper Energy

Thursday, November 10th, 2011

Fuel poverty is of grave concern throughout the UK. In Scotland alone it is predicted that around one million homeowners are living in fuel poverty. As a result, the Scottish government has pledged an extra £5 million to help tackle it by providing property owners with heating systems and insulation.

Whether the coalition government will follow suit remains to be seen, but it would seem unlikely with widespread cuts being announced across the board and the possibility of another recession looming. This means that you may have to take responsibility for lowering the cost of fuel bills by yourself and adding UPVC windows to your home is a good place to start.

Many may shudder at the thought of double glazing and associate it with rogue salesman turning up at your front door, but the fact is that contemporary windows are essential in the modern home. It consists of two panes of glass which come fixed to a heat insulating UPVC frame designed to trap and store large pockets of heat.

This then gives you the luxury of being able to use your heating less which then cuts the cost of your energy bills and the amount of fuel that you use throughout the day, thus keeping you out of the fuel poverty that so many families across the land dread.

The chances of conventional energy coming down in price is slim to none as the current high cost of energy is in part due to the fact that supplies of it are slowly disappearing. Fossil fuels are a vital part of the very lifeblood of the planet in which we live so it cannot be reiterated enough just how important it is to store as much of it as we possibly can.

Do your bit and add some UPVC doors while you are at it!

Replacement Windows Promise You Cheaper Energy Bills

Tuesday, November 1st, 2011

The rising cost of energy is a concern for every homeowner. We have reached a point where we can no longer solely rely on conventional energy as it is in seriously short supply, hence why so many energy companies are announcing price rises on an almost monthly basis.

Anyone who owns or rents a home has to take responsibility for saving energy and a change of their windows is as good a place to start than any as traditional windows are the key reason why we have to rely on energy so much.

It has been estimated by many that around 25% of heat lost from the home is because of the poor performance levels of traditional windows as they offer poor insulation and tend to allow draughts into living spaces.

When cold air manages to creep its way into the home many will try to compensate for it by turning up their heating further, making the problem of dwindling energy even worse. However, all these problems can be solved in an instant when you install double glazing as replacement windows of this kind will store energy for long periods.

As with conservatories, any money that you invest into new windows will be money well spent and an investment that you can easily earn back thanks to the money you will save on energy. You could earn a tidy profit and will be helping to save the planet at the same time as it is essential that we all do our best to save on energy and keep it in decent supply for future generations.

Costly energy bills can be a huge burden on your finances but they shouldn’t be especially when you have home improvements such as double glazing widely available to help you prevent the price of energy becoming too much.

Double Glazing Should Be A Top Priority

Sunday, October 16th, 2011

If you are looking to add value to your property, improve its energy efficiency or increase security, then double glazing should be at the top of your home improvement list.

Double glazed windows, as the name suggests, are made from two panes of glass rather than the traditional one pane which can be found in older windows. This extra section of glass can improve your home in many ways. Firstly double glazing can help to make you property more energy efficient. It is estimated that an astonishing 20% of the energy you use to heat your home is lost through the buildings windows. Double glazing can help to minimise this loss by providing extra insulation and in some cases it can actually help to heat your home if your new windows are A-rated.

Double glazing can also help to make your home more secure. As the windows get thicker due to the extra pane of glass, they become much safer making them a lot harder for anyone to force them open.  Most double glazing companies will also fit multi-point locking systems as standard ensuring that when you are away from your home your belongings are safe.

Finally double glazing will also improve the value of your home and increase its appeal to potential home buyers. Stylish new windows will always make your home look more attractive and as double glazing is available in numerous styles, designs and colours you can really add a bit of personality to your home.

Conservatories and orangeries are also a great way of making your property stand out from the crowd. They are available in various shapes and sizes so they are a suitable addition to many homes throughout the UK.

Eliminate High Energy Bills With Replacement Windows

Thursday, October 13th, 2011

The current price of energy has reached a level that we have never before experienced. Energy is in seriously short supply, hence why so many of the major energy companies have to bump up the cost of energy bills. That high price is then being passed onto homeowners, despite many of them being unable to afford it.

Those who find energy to be a serious burden on their finances are taking one of two options to try and counteract it. Many are living in fuel poverty and going without energy even when they need it the most, whilst others are looking to replace all their existing windows to ensure that what energy they do produce stays inside the confines of their home.

The second option is a much more sensible choice as it guarantees that your home will stay warm throughout the year, even in the colder months of the year. A set of replacement windows with double glazing included will trap heat generated by your boiler and allow little or none of it to escape from your property.

In addition to replacing all your old windows, anyone suffering with high energy bills should also look at changing their tariff. You would be surprised at how a little bit of shopping around can help you secure a price plan much more affordable than your current deal.

We all need energy in the home, but too few of us utilise it as efficiently as we should and a new set of windows will help you achieve this extremely important goal. They will also help you cut your existing carbon footprint so that you are safe in the knowledge that you are doing your bit for the environment.

As with conservatories, brand new windows offer financial rewards in the short and long-term.

Make Long-Term Energy Savings With Double Glazing

Monday, October 10th, 2011

As widely predicted, npower have become the latest major energy supplier to announce a rise in the price of energy. They are the fifth of the ‘big six’ suppliers to unveil similar increases, news which is sure to come as a serious blow to millions of UK householders. The overall cost of living has risen sharply since the recession hit and a hike in energy is the last thing many people need right now.

Those hardest hit by the high cost of energy will be those who have yet to adopt double glazing in their home as old windows are the chief reason why you have to be so reliant on your boiler. You will notice as you walk pass your traditional windows that you can feel outside air passing into your living space. This will not be the case when you replace them with double glazed windows.

Double glazing promises to eliminate any draughts currently present and cut down the amount of time you have to rely upon your heating. It will trap hot air for long periods so that you and your family regularly feel warm and comfortable in your surroundings.

The reason it is so effective at doing this is because it includes two panes of glass which are great at insulating hot air. It also consists of a durable and hard-wearing frame made out of UPVC. The heat from inside of your home cannot be lost through a set of double glazed windows so it is essential that you install it in as many rooms within your home as possible.

You will immediately notice the difference a new set of windows makes once you receive you first energy bill since replacing your old windows. It really will bring a smile to your face, just as orangeries and conservatories would.
